    This book offers up so many delights Firstly, the artist Janet Venn Brown I m Australian and had never heard of her until an interview on ABC, introducing me to this book Here is a woman who lived, and continues to live a rich, independent, creative life and is still hustling for exhibitions well into her late 80 s Secondly, the beautiful art in particular the Arabic series and especially the Syrian trip Aleppo Whilst I fully expect Venn Brown s work to live on into the decades, her work during her middle eastern trips are a bittersweet documentary of a time before escalation in hostilities and her work is really special Thirdly, the thread that tugs and pulls through each of the chapers, her relationship with Wael Zuaiter that continued well after his assination, and relentless support for Palestine Finally, I love the writing author Peter Manning brings a matter of fact, almost journalistic introduction to Ve...
